Such is life....

So as some of you may have already heard, my company will be closing the end of next week and I will officially be "unemployed" for the first time since I was 14...... As I think back, I have always had a job..My first job was as a dishwasher at the Ole Kettle in Breckenridge, I would ride my bike to work because I was so young I didn't even have a license yet, I was also so short that they had to get me a stool to stand on to reach the high shelves, and the cooks would always have to put things away for me that I couldn't reach.
When I was 15 I got my job at the Dairy Queen, which led to a massive weight gain my sophomore year, but I was happy..chubby...but happy. In the summertime I taught track, arts and crafts and other various Parks and Rec jobs.
When I was 16 I became a lifeguard and taught swimming lessons, which were the best two summers of my life, all I did was sit in the sun all day, chatted with my friends who also worked there and taught swimming lessons to cute little kids, it was the best, and as I look back on my teenage years, I wish life could be as simple and fun as it was then.
When I was a freshmen in college my parents made me get a job, although I did not have a car, which posed a bit of a problem.. Good thing I was fired about 5 months after I got that job.. That was the one and only job I had ever been fired from, and to this day I don't really know why...I was a cashier at Cub Foods and apparently my till was always off and I didn't scan coupons properly, I wasn't stealing, I was just confused, either way, I was relieved when that happened, that job was a complete nightmare and required me to take the bus to and from the ghetto of St. Cloud.. NOT COOL. So, to supplement my income, I needed a new job. I had a deal with mom and dad that they would give me 100$ a month...I had a meal plan at school so I wouldn't have to spend money on food, but no one can live on 100$ a month...so I had to get creative..... I mostly mooched off my roommate Megan, who was nice enough to let me, I would go with her to her parents house on the weekends (they only lived a few miles from St. Cloud) I would do all my laundry there, so I saved on that, and I would eat there all weekend as well... they were happy to feed a starving college student.... Then a great thing happened, the janitors of the dorms went on strike....Which meant they had to hire college kids to keep the dorms clean, and pay them a decent rate. So for 8$ an hour, I was assigned floors 3, 6 and 10 in a 13 story dorm, each floor had 4 bathrooms, and i only had to do the girls, so 2 on each floor, you did your own time card so sometimes... I may have exaggerated the time I actually spent doing it...So for about a month I would take my wet floor sign, my garbage can on wheels and rubber gloves and would hit up the bathrooms... and from then on, every party I went to someone was always like " Dude, you are the chick that cleans the bathrooms on my floor..." To me, it was a pretty good gig, I set my own hours, I got above minimum wage, no supervisor and some of the bathrooms had radio's, so I didn't get bored...My friends thought i was crazy, because college kids do not keep the bathrooms clean, some got pretty nasty, but I have never had a problem getting dirty or dealing with icky stuff...
For the next few years throughout college I answered my calling as a waitress, the nights got long, and late, but I always made good money, and good friends.... I can't imagine ever not working, I think that is the one thing my parents instilled in me that I still carry with me, a good work ethic.
So, in closing...my job will end this week and I will get severance until November 28th, meaning I get paid my normal paycheck for 6 more weeks.... I don't know what I am going to do with those 6 weeks, but I will try and come up with a money making scheme.....

Lost Camera Cord

I CANNOT find my stupid camera cord!! So I can't get any pictures up, but I think I am going to break down and go buy one, I want to take pictures of Grandma's move this weekend and of course more of Mya, who I haven't seen in 2 weeks! So Nome if you are reading this, I think it is possible my camera cord may be at your house....it is gray, you should look for it, the world needs to see more pictures of our lives!

I also went to look at rings again last week at Schmidts in Fargo, I think I am just too picky because again nothing jumped out at me....at all. I think I am going to have to hit the custom design option. Besides that, pretty much nothing new going on with me... I am still making plans to: A. Apply to Graduate school at NDSU, I am taking the GRE ( entrance exam, like the ACT's) in October, meeting with the director of the program today to see if I would be a good fit... and just sent out an email request to my references for letters of recommendation, if I am accepted I will begin classes Spring Semester 2008 (which is this January)
Option B. Moving...buying a house/townhome in Fargo/Moorhead, especially if I plan to be here the next couple years

So that is the Ashley Update!

I promise I will get pictures of Mya up soon! I have lots I just need to get them up, she was one month old yesterday! I was talking to Nome on the phone and could hear Mya cooing in the background! She is quite noisy, always cooing or grunting. She is still a tiny little peanut but is gaining weight.

Me at the lake with dad's new dog Mickey, although he has grow since then!
Me arrving in Vegas for a bachelorette party, pulled my luggage off of the luggage thing and it was dripping wet! I ripped it open and some of my 8 million hair products had exploded! Good thing I anticipated this happening and wrapped most everything in plastic and placed all the white clothes on away from the liquids!

What has Ashley been up to???

So I know I have kind of been MIA for the past year......So maybe its time for a little update on Ashley....I moved back from Plymouth in May, I know live in Fargo, ND with my boyfriend Nathan( I say boyfriend because he isn't my fiance yet...why you ask??? I don't know....something about Nathan not marrying me until I "tone down the crazy") I work for a small Health Marketing Firm, don't ask me what I do because I literally do nothing...hence me blogging at 3:53 on a Wednesday. Nathan works for Valley Reality as a Marketing and PR director for their new real estate development, an active senior living community currently being built in Fargo. We got a cat named Tuffty, (nickname, Tina) for Christmas, he is not very nice, has a biting problem and knocks EVERYTHING over, he was a gift from dad, so thanks dad, he is a joy! We keep busy by attending weddings, bachelorette parties, and baby showers on the weekends. I swear almost all of my friends are now married or pregnant...Which is absolutely wonderful for them, they are some of the most beautiful couples I know. I was able to take a few trips this year, one to Las Vegas for a bachelorette party in May, I would tell you about it but I am trying to keep this blog PG. Mom and I also went to Cancun for a Wells Fargo trip mom won, as she was nominated for a service Excellence Award ( yay, go mom) and I was her guest....I pretty much laid in the sun all day, sipped free drinks in the pool and only had ONE mini fight with mom the whole time. I was so glad we got to go on the trip together, I didn't want to come home...we had too much fun! I even got mom to go jogging with me one night... we all know mom doesn't exercise....she just stays skinny from stress :) Nathan has also been to Vegas a few times this year with his friends, he tried to plan another one for this summer but I put my foot down and said NO WAY!!! but he just picked my little foot back up and said he was going........He never went. I have posted some pics for you all to enjoy. Now that I am back in the area I expect to be invited to birthday parties, showers, dinners, lake events, etc!! It will be great to be in the loop again, because who knows when I will decided to take off again and move away for a while!

SUMMER -O- Weddings!!

If you have been wondering how Ashley spends most of her weekends, it has been going to bachelorette parties, weddings, baby showers, etc... I guess I am at the age where most of my friends are getting married....I have another wedding in St. Cloud this weekend, which is kind of a bummer as dad is having the annual "Morgan Family Reunion" aka chaos. I have posted some pics just for fun in case you miss my beautiful face....

Let's not tell Nathan....

So, many of you have probably been wondering if Nathan and I are ever getting engaged! ( as whenever I see family, they quickly glance to my left hand..) I have been looking at rings for a while now and cannot find the right one! Did anyone else have this problem? They all look so generic to me! I like a round cut, white gold look, The ring pictured is the ringI keep going back to, but have been unable to find it in a store around here, as I found it online. Any suggestions for stores, designs, etc??

Man I love Britney Spears

So one of my favorite passtimes here at the office is to check in on Britney Spears. I find her quite fascinating, and love how she truly epitomizes white trash, just when you think she has done it, she does something crazy like flash her privates to the world, shave her head and check into rehab, and marry a loser backupdancer and have two children 9 months apart. I have included my recent favorite picture of the has- been pop princess. She appears to be enjoying a cigarette while who I can only guess is Tator Tot ( in case you haven't been following Ms. Spears as closely as I have, the media has nicknamed her two sons, Tator Tot and Small Fry) playing in some sort of sandbox in his pampers, while a hastily strewn box of diapers rests in the grass nearby. Now if I am not mistaken, that truly is motherhood at its best.

So...I have a blog now

So.... I have a blog now, even though I have no children, and no home...So not really alot to talk and post pics about, but I am constanly bored at work, which allows me quite a bit of extra time to surf around on the Internet.....So if you would like to catch up on your celebrity gossip, listen to my rants and raves, and check out pic's of my new favorite person, Mya Miranowski, then this is the place.
